Dear Friend,

It's time to join us in the theater! Our first production under the artistic direction of Christopher K. Morgan, Tandem Intuition will be a captivating performance, with work that is thought-provoking and fresh. You can join us in the studio for an open rehearsal this month and get an inside look at the work as it is being developed. Our students are ready to take the stage at Francis Parker School where they will showcase their passion and extraordinary dedication to dance. I also want to lift up our community partners who are providing opportunities for movers and dancers to explore new workshops and performances. We are grateful you are part of our organization, and I am proud of our staff, dancers, and faculty for ensuring that dance is made accessible for every body, every age, and every brain. Thank you to our donors and supporters for making this possible.

With gratitude,

Molly Puryear, Executive Director

May (re)Connect Class-

Wednesdays in May, you can join Malashock Dance Company Dance Nick McGhee in the studio.

This class will explore dynamic contemporary techniques with an emphasis on cultivating a safe and creative space. We will be aiming our focus on cultivating and maturing our performance quality, ranging from improvisation to classical modern contemporary techniques. Some classes will start on the floor and slowly build up to standing, exploring movement in diverse relationships to gravity. Other classes will start with individual task-based guided improvisation. We will end with a phrase that utilizes the explorations and tasks from class for a holistic contemporary study.

Spring ChoreoWreck: De/Reconstructing Solo Dances

Micah Parra and Joyce Lien Kushner offer up their solos to the "wrecking" process as part of their choreographic research. Each will be inviting two other dance/movement artists to play with their work and remake it on their bodies...live, in front of an audience! This is a rare opportunity for audiences to witness the creative process of dance making.
