Dear Friends

This month marks the premier of our breathtaking production, The Ride:Malashock@30 - featuring new choreography by John Malashock and performed by our elite company of eleven incomparable dancers. I am amazed by the dedication, talent, and vision that these artists have poured into this show, and I hope to see you in the audience at one of the six performances this month! I can promise you that there is nothing like this production anywhere in San Diego, and the experience will be uniquely entertaining, moving, and inspiring.

Mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual ART OF DANCE Fundraising Celebration! This one-of-a-kind event fuses the art of dance and fashion together to create an unforgettable evening. This is NOT your typical gala! We are honored to have Dame Zandra Rhodes as our Honorary Chair and Patricia O'Connor as our Chair. A team of fashion designers is hard at work creating unique costumes and gowns inspired by well-known artworks by Renior, Van Gogh, and Toulouse Lautrec, and John Malashock is creating choreography based on the same works of art. All will be unveiled at the ART OF DANCE on May 26th!

Dear Friends,

It's Showtime!! (Well, almost) We are in the final stages of rehearsal for THE RIDE: Malashock@30, and the work is looking great. The dancers are working incredibly hard, and I really like what I have created for this show. The three pieces that make up the program are amazingly different from each other. A MAN FOUND WANTING is a suite of quirky, but very physical, character studies set to live piano music of Leos Janacek; THE CLEARING AT DAWN is an absolute explosion of joyous movement to music by Judd Greenstein; and THE RIDE feels like a series of short journeys, to the remarkably appealing music of Matthew McBane. As a show to celebrate our 30th Season, I couldn't be happier about what we are offering. I hope you will come take this ride with us.
