| | | Dear Friend, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support. There’s so much excitement in the air, and I’m thrilled to share some incredible developments with you! This year, we’re embracing fresh, innovative approaches to our programming that truly reflect the vibrant needs of our community. We’re expanding our Company season to three remarkable productions, each infused with a bold vision and featuring groundbreaking artists from our region and beyond. We’ve also launched two dynamic professional development programs aimed at nurturing the next generation of arts administrators and dance makers. With the help of a world-class community panel who reviewed 26 talented applications, we are proud to announce our selected SEED choreographers, who will debut their premier new work in January 2025. Our cherished partnerships with San Diego schools continue to flourish, allowing students to engage with dance that resonates with their identities and fuels their passion for the arts. The work we do is ambitious, expansive, and incredibly exciting—and we need support to make it possible. We’re passionate about sharing what we do, knowing it creates a positive and lasting impact in our community. In full transparency, times are tough for dance organizations. Funding has continued to dwindle from what were previously reliable sources, and so now is the time to unite and show up for dance in our region. Together, let’s make this year unforgettable! With gratitude and excitement, Molly Puryear, Executive Director |

| | | (Re)Connect Classes this month with Chelsea Zeffiro Join company dancer Chelsea Zeffiro in the studio! This class utilizes various dance and improvisation techniques, warming up the body and the mind to explore contemporary style movement and play. We will move in relationship to ourselves and others by cultivating a sensorial approach to the material — engaging, specifying, and opening up body pathways. Move fluidly between improvisation, partner concepts, phrase work, and floor work. (No partnering experience required, and physical contact not required.) |

| | Malashock Dance Artist Spotlight |
| Marcos Duran, Commissioned Choreographer & Dancer "Malashock Dance facilitated an avenue for me to continue building my capacities as a professional dance maker and performer. What I value most about Malashock Dance is feeling the presence of the administration, and their dedication to knowing and connecting with the artists on an interpersonal level. It is also inspiring to feel John's dedication to his craft and his courageous and generous decision to pass the baton to new leadership. I am very excited about all the possibilities that Christopher Morgan represents." |
