Dear Friend,

Exciting times at Malashock Dance! It was wonderful to publicly introduce Christopher K. Morgan to the San Diego community last month. At our event celebrating his appointment as our new Artistic Director, he wowed the crowd with both his visionary words and his touching solo, RICE, which he performed. It felt like a rather momentous occasion, heralding the culmination of the transition we have been building up to for the last two years. We are all feeling like great things are in store for our Malashock Dance. Exciting indeed!

Yours,

Rehearsal Begins for Everyday Dances III

The Company starts back to rehearsal later this month for our Everyday Dances III shows in January (25-28), which will feature the work of ten extraordinary San Diego-based choreographers. We love showcasing the depth and breadth of dance-making talent right here in our back yard. Our nine Company dancers are eager to start bringing these choreographers' visions to life.

Stay tuned for more ways you can get involved, including free open rehearsals and pop up classes with our commissioned choreographers!

Featuring: Founding Director John Malashock and DWTA Instructor and Outreach Program Manager Nicole Diaz-Pellot

A big shoutout to the amazing students of Dance with This Ability for lighting up the room at the Christopher K Morgan event!

Their cool moves and creative spirit were a highlight of the evening.
Jillian Anderson, Ricky Burritt, Kiarri Kilgallon, and Tiffany Park, showed us all that dance knows no boundaries as they put a unique spin on the Cupid Shuffle, getting the whole audience grooving along.

We couldn't be more roud of them, and their reminder that dance belongs to everyone.
Keep shining and inspiring us all!
