Malashock Dance is offering a one-day professional development workshop for dance teachers looking to expand their knowledge and network with teachers across the county. Experienced teachers and dance administrators will be presenting on relevant topics that will enhance your resume and expand your teaching skills for the studio AND the classroom. Malashock Dance will prioritize hiring attendees when employment and teaching opportunities arise!

With TIFFANY DOMINGO
Native to San Diego, Tiffany has 14 years of dance experience and 10 years of teaching experience under her belt. At the age of 13, she began dancing competitive hip-hop at a local dance studio. At the start of her teaching career, she completed three successful years of developing choreography and directing the Steele Canyon High School Dance Team. She had the privilege to work with various studios, schools and teams around southern California – most notably: Academy of Performing Arts San Diego (APA), Culture Shock Dance Center, Prodigy Dance Company, Touch of Class Dance Studio, San Diego Dance Centre, Jibe Studios, Pt. Loma High School, Orange Glenn High School and CSULB’s PAC Modern.

With KHAMLA SOMPHANH
Khamla Somphanh has performed professionally with ODC/San Francisco Dance Company, Wyliiams/Henry Dance Ensemble, and on Broadway in "The King and I" with choreography by Lar Lubovitch. She currently teaches highly-successful classes at Malashock Dance School and Canyon Crest Academy, specializing in Horton Technique. Khamla was recently invited by Hope Boykin (Principal Dancer, Alvin Ailey) to teach Horton at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. this past summer.
Dance Curriculum in Public Schools
With CANDICE NARLOCK
Candice Narlock is the Dance Resource Teacher for San Diego Unified Schools District. She supports dance and multiple subject teachers improve instructional practices, write curriculum and build teacher and student capacity.
Before her position at the district office, Candice spent 15 years teaching dance and arts integration in K-12 schools. After a successful career as a professional dancer and choreographer, Candice’s new mission is to improve, increase, and enhance the quality and quantity of dance education in San Diego.
Inclusive Practices
With KELLY FLANSBURG
Kelly is a former apprentice with Complexions Contemporary Ballet and an experienced administrator in the New York Public School System. Kelly has worked for and built multiple programs over the course of her time in NY centered around inclusion and empathy. Kelly holds a degree in Creative Art Therapy from Russell Sage College.
